Regarding the credit information incident at the National Credit Information Center (CIC)
UOB Vietnam is aware of the recent cybersecurity incident involving the National Credit Information Center (CIC), as reported by the Vietnam Cybersecurity Emergency Response Center (VNCERT) on 10 September 2025.
We are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with the State Bank of Vietnam and relevant authorities to assess any potential impact and reinforce protective measures. Our priority is to safeguard our customers’ data and maintain the integrity of our banking systems.
UOB Vietnam’s systems remain fully secure, and operational. Customer accounts and funds are protected, and there is no indication of compromise within our infrastructure.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has confirmed that:
The credit information collected by the Credit Information Center (CIC), in accordance with the law, does not include details such as: deposit accounts, deposit balances, savings books, payment accounts, debit card numbers, credit card numbers, security codes (CVV/ CVC), or customer payment transaction history.
The information technology systems of credit institutions (CIs) operate independently, and their service provision activities are currently being carried out continuously, safely, and stably.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available from the authorities and encourage our customers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to their accounts/cards.
