    Transfer of assets and liabilities

    of United Overseas Bank Limited, Hochiminh City Branch (“UOB HCMC”) to United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited (“UOBVN”)

General

The transfer is not relevant to, nor lead to the change of our bank’s name.  Currently, United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB Group) are operating in Vietnam in the form of foreign bank owned branch with our name as United Overseas Bank, Hochiminh City Branch. According to the approval of the State Bank of Vietnam on the establishment of 100% foreign owned subsidiary of UOB Group, which is  United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited, and on the take-over of assets and liabilities of United Overseas Bank, Hochiminh City Branch by the newly set up subsidiary, we are performing the transfer of assets and liabilities from our current Branch (including accounts, deposits, loans, facilities granted to the customers as well as customers, contractual relationship, counter-party relationship) to the subsidiary.

Yes, the transfer will be (has been) published on national newspaper.

Generally, the transfer will not affect customer’s rights and obligations under the relevant contracts with the bank. United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited shall take over all rights and obligations of our current Branch in relevant contracts with customers after the transfer, and you will bank and perform your obligations with United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited as from 2/7/2018.

Account Information

Yes, you can continue using your current account after the transfer as generally there will be no change to the use and operation of your account at our bank.

Please contact our Customer Services at our Branch at 17 Le Duan, District 1, Hochiminh City for further support on account closure.

No, you can use your bank account as usual. However, to the extent soonest possible, you need to notify your counter-party, client, vendor and relevant party of the change to beneficiary bank’s name from United Overseas Bank Limited – Hochiminh City Branch to United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited, effect from 2 July 2018 – which is the transfer completion date. However, in order to enable the smooth operation of your Accounts, any remittance using United Overseas Bank Limited – Hochiminh City Branch as beneficiary bank within one (1) month from 2/7/2018 to 2/8/2018 will still be accepted, upon which, any incorrect use of beneficiary bank’s name will be rejected.

No, your account number will remain unchanged.

Deposit

No, there will be no impact to your interest accrued on your fixed deposit with us due to the transfer.

You may withdraw partially or wholly your fixed deposit with us, subject to the application lowest demand deposit rate over the whole amount due to such immature withdrawal.

Lending

Generally there will be no impact on your loan (or banking facilities) with us. We however may require you or relevant parties to execute certain documents and/or notarize and/or register with the security registrars, or any procedure to effect the transfer as per the applicable laws. This will be done at our cost.

Yes, there will be no impact to the withdrawal of money from your ATM card as well as the account balance enquiry.
