We are an independent internal audit function that provides objective assurance and consulting to improve and add value to the Group’s operations. We help the Group achieve its strategic objectives by adopting a systematic and disciplined approach towards evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
We are the custodian of the UOB Brand and the governor of our corporate identity. Through brand strategy, management, initiatives and performance, we address the art of branding in an objective, logical and scientific manner. This approach allows internal stakeholders to understand and participate in building and shaping a UOB brand that we can be proud of. Our goal is to lift brand perception and value — to elevate UOB to an Asian brand name known globally, for our time-tested business philosophy and values.
We are a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.
Credit and Risk Management
We are comprised of three teams: Risk Management, Credit and Special Asset Management. We manage the risks arising from the Group’s business activities within the risk appetite established by the Board. This involves identifying and evaluating the risks, developing effective risk governance and strategies as well as providing independent assessment of the overall risk profile.

We manage the financial and administrative needs of the Group to help achieve its business goals.

Legal and Secretariat
We are comprised of the Legal and Secretariat teams. The Legal team works closely with all functions across the Group to provide timely, accurate and practical legal support. This facilitates decision-making in the delivery of efficient service to our customers, while ensuring that the Group’s interests are protected. The Secretariat team supports the boards of UOB and its Singapore subsidiaries in the discharge of their responsibilities and provides advice on governance matters. It also facilitates communication between the non-executive directors and senior management, and manages the induction and professional development programme for directors.

Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.
By leveraging our unique combination of local market expertise and regional capabilities, we are able to provide a market-leading portfolio of financial solutions and services that deliver differentiated value. These range from solutions that streamline operations and optimise financial returns across Cash Management, Financial Supply Chain Management and Trade Finance activities to Advisory Services for Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Raising and Foreign Direct Investments in new markets.
We also partner with Global Markets to offer our clients risk management, hedging and investment solutions in Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Commodities products. In addition, we drive close collaboration with Group Retail to deliver the full spectrum of UOB’s franchise by providing retail banking services to company owners, officers and employees of our clients.
We are comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
The Retail business provides Personal and Business Banking customers with financial solutions tailored to their needs. We help them manage their money wisely and meet their financial goals through an extensive range of products and services. These include deposit, insurance, secured and unsecured loans, investment and wealth advisory services.
We develop integrated products and services targeted at helping small and medium-sized enterprises across the region progress through different stages of growth. These include innovative solutions and initiatives in areas of working capital loans, operational efficiency and currency exposure.
We serve customers across the region where they will enjoy a fully digital experience which is intuitive, transparent and engaging – from the moment they apply, to opening an account, through to their everyday lifestyle needs.
